Pismo Beach Offices on the Ballot:
- City Council Member, 4-year term ending 2024 (seat currently held by Marcia Guthrie)
- City Council Member, 4-year term ending 2024 (seat currently held by Erik Howell)
- Mayor, 2-year term ending 2022 (seat currently held by Ed Waage)
Pismo Beach Measures on the Ballot:
- Pismo Beach Public Safety and Community Services Protection Measure. To maintain police
and firefighter service levels; reduce 911 emergency response times; protect local groundwater
and beaches; and enhance senior programming and other essential services, shall the
hotel/visitor tax be increased by 1%, paid by visitors, generating approximately $1 million
annually, until ended by voters, requiring annual audits and local control of funds?
- Deadline for Primary Arguments: June 17, 2020
- Deadline for Rebuttal Arguments: June 27, 2020 (extended to June 29, 2020)
Candidate Nomination:
Candidate nomination period opens: Monday, July 13, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.
Candidate nomination period ends: Friday, August 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
Extension of nomination period: If an incumbent does not file, the nomination period for that
office will be extended to Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. for all other individuals.
Nomination papers must be obtained from, and filed with, the Pismo Beach City Clerk's Office.

Eligibility: To be eligible to run for office in Pismo Beach, a candidate must be a registered
voter in the city of Pismo Beach at the time nomination papers are issued. Certain felony
convictions may be disqualifying.
